BAND!

Alright, the last post was a bit long for me, so I decided to vent here and post about it instead. I am just going to warn you now, I am a band geek through and through. Nothing makes me happier than to play with the band. HOWEVER! Due to the incident in May which made me bed ridden, I was unable to join the Marching Band, as well as Jazz Band 2. Now I thought I could somehow cope with this, Band is very fun no matter the level. EXCEPT for the fact that our teacher is completely spoiling the higher bands and ignoring us. Alot of the kids in the lower bands don't care though, but I do. The one thing that is really tearing at me right now is the fact that both the bands are going out of state for amazing competition trips! Marching Band get to go to Las Vegas this Saturday. And Jazz Band 2 get to go to New Orleans! Alright, it's enough to not be in the bands with the people you've known since seventh grade, but then when they rub it in our faces and brag about how they get to go to these awesome places. Now I'm not saying everyone in these bands do this. There are a few who don't forget their friends no matter what band they're in. Another thing, what's really getting my goat is that half the people in these bands are complaining! Yes complaining that they have to go! I'd smash my saxaphone to pieces just for a chance to go. Sorry, had to vent. It really hurts because, I've played with these people for three years, we were like a family. And now it feels like I've been disowned. At least on Friday I get to go to Riverton for a Debate competition. Debate is great! It doesn't matter if you're a novice, or if you just are taking that class to fill in a period, you're treated the same! No one is stupid or beneathe you. And basically, you all get to go to the same competitions (yes there are different levels in them, but they're in the same place), except for maybe two. And that's the national tournaments or the State finals. But those are like in Alta or Lone Peak. You could tag along just to observe if you wanted to. I really miss Band back in Jr. High. When it was actually a family, where the band supported one another and played for the enjoyment. Even when I was in Symphonic Band (highest band in Jr. High), we helped out the younger bands, and hung out with them. But now I just feel a little neglected. I love band. LOVE it. And even if I couldn't play, I'd do my best to come and show support. Which I've done at the foot ball games. I've only missed one foot ball game. ONE! The rest, I was always with the band. But especially now, it feels like all my attempts of showing support and trying to make the band, not a class, but a group of friends and family who love to play and make music, a complete and utter waste. And that some are just crushing me beneath their heel.

Next year...I'm going to fix Band. I'm going to show what Band is supposed to be about. It's about Family, and Music. Not about grades and trophies. As long as we're having a good time, nothing else matters. (Unless of course you're slacking and not putting any effort into it. You get my drift.) Anyways, thanks for reading guys. Boys Point of View VS. Girls Point of View

Alright, so I got this really cool chain mail from a friend of mine on the Boys Point of View on what girls do. So I decided to post it here, and make up a Girls Point of View on what guys do as well. Of course both guys and girls can post other things here if they want to add any. Have fun reading!

Guys point of view:

We don't care if you talk to other guys.
We don't care if you're friends with other guys.
But when you're sitting next to us, and some random guy

and you jump up and tackle him, without even introducing us,

us off.

do get a

concerned.
Nothing is that important at 2 a.m. that it can't wait
till the morning.

cute/ stunning, we freaking mean it.
Don't tell us we're wrong.
We'll stop trying to convince you. The hottest thing about a girl is confidence.

From a
Girls point of view:

1.
We do care if you're talking with other girls. Unless you treat us more speical in front of them, then your treating them.
We do care if you're with other girls. (this is from majority survey btw.)
When you're sitting next to us, and some random girl

and then runs over, gives you a hug, you hug her back, completely ignore us, and she cooes and giggles over you, we are jealous and we are pissed off. No matter how much we're smiling. In girl language, she is rubbing it in our faces that she has more attention from you, than we do.

even acknowledging the fact that we're still there. (This is the same for both sides. Sometimes we'll just leave.)

We don't care if a girl calls you, but at 2 in the morning we

All we want is for you to sincerely compliment us. Or even better, give us a hug and say, "Thanks *insert name/cutesy name here*."

Don't be mad at us if we forget to let you open the door for us, pull out our chair, or just to let you act like a gentleman. We've been surviving on our own for years and it's kinda new and strange to us that guys actually want to be nice and polite to us. Not to show us they can burp the ABC's.

WE DO HATE IT WHEN YOU PAY FOR US!

We will not stop you from paying for us, but deal with it when we whine and whimper.

We enjoy doing it.
It's expected.
Just grin at us and say, "So what do you want?"

In the end, we will give in, one way or another.

(Note: IF we take about five minutes and still haven't budge. Just order something random. If the girl's picky, just get her a fricken plain salad or something. If she's not, order anything and she'll eat it because she knows it's rude to refuse food made for her and paid for.

If you have no clue, you're screwed.)

6.

Kiss us when no
one's watching.
Unless we're seeking revenge or to make someone else jealous, do not kiss us in public! Like the school hall for instance. A lot of us are shy and do not want the whole school to see our little moment of pure romance.

We want it to ourselves.

We are selfish jealous beasts.

Dress up for us!
We love it!

It makes us feel like you care a lot about us that you took time to make yourself look good while we were on your mind.

(Especially if all you wear are baggy jeans and a faded t-shirt every day. If you're taking us on a date or want to make a really good impression on us at school, where something like a button up collared shirt with a t-shirt under it, and your good jeans! Then, do your hair! Really, it works wonders. She will notice. She may not say it, but she will notice!)

8.
Don't take everything we say

Do not ramble on about cars, mechanic stuff, hunting gear, your favorite team, etc.

Girls adore it and will tell the whole school how amazing and romantic you are

if you are creative and use synonyms to beautiful. Some are like:

Radiant, Spectacular, Gorgeous, etc.

Do not treat us like you treat other girls!

Do not treat us differently in front of your friends!

Be proud if you like us!

Otherwise you make it look like it's hard and a pain to like us.

If you hug us, then hug another girl, we will be jealous, and will think

that we are not as special to you as the next girl.

HomeComing!!

Oh my goodness I haven't updated this place in so long! But now I have something really exciting to type about. This past Saturday (Oct. 11th 2008) I went to homecoming with my date Drew Richmound (I hope I didn't spell his name wrong.) But it was so amazing and really fun. We went as a group with his other friend Urvan, and his date Megan. On Saturday we went to see a movie in the afternoon first. The movie was an inspirational football story type of movie called The Express. Really appropiate and a pretty good movie. (Warning: It's kinda Long.) But it was a pretty good movie. Drew was such a gentleman, he always opened the doors for me and let my go first for everything. After the movie we all went home to get ready for that night. I dressed in a dazzling dark plum colored dress. My awesome Mother of course, did my hair and makeup. (As well as she picked out the hair clips and jewelry.) Urvan was the first to arrive at my house, aparently Drew was supposed to meet up with us here. And he was ten minutes late! I didn't mind, but Urvan was hilarious and having a fit. "PUNCTUAL!." He said over and over again. It was funny. When Drew got to my house, he had bought me a crosauge! It was beautiful! He also had bought a dress shirt and tie that matched my dress to perfection. It was so sweet. So we picked up Urvan's date, and after we found out Olive Garden had an hour wait, we went to another Italian resteraunt nearby called La Vigna. Their food was great. I had a odd spinach, califlower cream kind of soup and a pasta with chicken. It was really good. And our waitress was the nicest person. I had so much fun talking with Drew and everyone while we ate and watched as other dates came in. Across from us, a co-worker of Megan's and his friend were talking. Completely ignoring their dates!!! So us at the "awesome table", frantically attempted to try and send messages to the clueless boys. (You know, writing in pen on napkins and waving them in the air, trying to get dumb waiters to pass messages, etc.) In the end, I saw a seinor friend of mine, had him come over. Then discretely pass on the messages to the clueless pair. It was hilarious. After we had finished, we went to the Dance. (And it was FREEZING outside.) The dance was held in the cafeteria, and the commons area of the school. It was decorated in balloons and stars. And of course the traditional paper waterfall from the stars. It was really pretty and the music was great. You just had to be careful not to stand in front of the doors because the police officer there opened them it you'd freeze to death if you stood in front of them. I kept getting compliments on my hair and dress. Drew and I took homecomming pictures too. It was really nice. And we were all tired by the end of it. So there's my first date. ^^ I'm so psyched. Btw, School's going alright. I just hope I don't have to miss another day of school again. EEP! Oh, and on Friday Oct. 10th, I marched in the Lehi High School Parade with Debate. It was so much fun! Then Drew and I went to the Football game afterwards. 1. We were flattened by Timpanogas. (11-41) 2. It was impossibly cold there! (Thank you Mom for the blanket! And Brandon's Twin Brother for the hat. And Drew for the extra warmth and hot cocoa!) 3. It was long and I pity the Marching Band for having to stand out there in the cold with metal instruments.
